To clarify the questions as to why candidates that have suspended their campaign for President of the United States still show up on the ballot, I reached out to the Kentucky Secretary of State office for official clarification. The last day to withdraw from the election was January 17, 2024, and no candidate as of today has filed a Notice of Candidate Withdrawal for the presidential race with the Kentucky Secretary of State. If they do not formally withdraw from the race in Kentucky votes cast for them on May 21st must be counted. If they do formally withdraw then a notice will be posted at each voting center stating which candidates have withdrawn from the respective race and any vote cast for the person will not count. Suspending your campaign is not the same as withdrawing from the election. ![]()
There was also a question regarding “UNCOMMITTED”. When a voter selects “UNCOMMITTED” this implies that they are exercising a “party vote” but are not committed to any of the candidates listed on the ballot. ![]()
I hope this information helps the voters understand the ballot as to why those candidates are still listed.

The Crestwood office is currently down due to connectivity issues to the state software system. Please visit the Lagrange or Prospect offices for your motor vehicle needs until further notice. Updates will be provided as received by the State.

The phones are currently down in the Fiscal Court Building which effects the LaGrange branch of the Oldham County Clerk’s Office. We are here and can still process transactions but have no phones. The Crestwood and Prospect locations have operational phones. Updates will be provided as we receive them.
